Multi-specialty billing support

Medical Billing for Cardiology & Other Specialties

OB/GYN is our core focus — but the same disciplined billing process works across specialties. We also provide billing, coding and revenue cycle management for cardiology, internal medicine, family practice and other outpatient specialties, including multi-specialty groups with women's health providers.

Honest reporting

Specialized focus, proven process

Our name says OB/GYN, and that's where most of our work and expertise lies. But the fundamentals that make OB/GYN billing work — verifying coverage before the visit, coding from the documentation, scrubbing claims before submission, working every denial to its root cause and reporting honestly — apply to every specialty.

Over more than eight years in medical billing, we've supported practices outside women's health too, especially multi-specialty groups that include OB/GYN providers and independent specialists referred to us by our existing clients. This page explains what we offer outside OB/GYN, and how we approach it.

Cardiology billing

Cardiology is one of the most coding-intensive specialties, with frequent professional/technical component splits, diagnostic testing with strict medical necessity rules, and procedures with complex bundling. We handle:

Diagnostic testing

Service Example codes
Electrocardiogram 93000, 93005, 93010
Transthoracic echocardiography 93306, 93307, 93308
Stress testing 93015–93018, with stress echo 93350/93351
Holter and extended ECG monitoring 93224–93227, 93241–93248
Event and mobile cardiac telemetry 93268–93272, 93228/93229
Vascular studies 93880, 93970, 93922–93924

Device management

Pacemaker and defibrillator interrogation and programming (93279–93298) — in-person and remote — with the correct global period, frequency and professional/technical splits.

Procedures and hospital services

Cardiac catheterization, interventional procedures, and inpatient and observation E/M services, coded from the procedure report with attention to bundled imaging and add-on codes.

Cardiology-specific challenges we manage

  • Medical necessity. Local and national coverage determinations specify which diagnoses support echoes, stress tests and monitoring. We check diagnosis linkage before submission.
  • Component billing. Practices that read studies performed at hospitals bill the professional component (modifier 26); global billing applies only when the practice owns the equipment and performs both components.
  • Frequency limits. Repeat echocardiograms and monitoring services face payer frequency edits that need documented justification.
  • Prior authorization. Advanced imaging such as nuclear stress testing and cardiac CT/MRI frequently requires authorization through radiology benefit managers.

Internal medicine and family practice

Primary care billing runs on high volume and fine details: E/M level selection by medical decision making or time, preventive visits and Medicare annual wellness visits, chronic care management, transitional care management, vaccines and their administration codes, and in-office testing under CLIA. We focus on capturing the services primary care teams already provide — care management time, same-day preventive and problem visits with modifier 25, and add-on codes such as G2211 where appropriate.

Pediatrics

Well-child visits with age-based preventive codes, vaccine product and administration billing, developmental and behavioral screenings, and newborn care. Pediatric billing has heavy Medicaid and CHIP involvement, which means state-specific rules we track closely.

Urology

Office procedures such as cystoscopy, urodynamics and prostate biopsy; injections and drug billing; and surgical cases with bundling rules that overlap with urogynecology. Practices with both urology and urogynecology providers benefit from one team that understands both.

Other outpatient specialties

We also support other outpatient specialties on a case-by-case basis — including endocrinology, gastroenterology and behavioral health practices — when we're confident we can do the work well. If your specialty isn't listed, send us a message and we'll tell you honestly whether we're a good fit.

What every client gets, regardless of specialty

  • Eligibility and benefits verification before scheduled visits and procedures
  • Charge capture and coding from the documentation, with specialty-specific edits
  • Claim scrubbing and daily submission
  • Payment posting and underpayment checks against contracted rates
  • Denial management with root-cause tracking — see denial management
  • A/R follow-up by age and value
  • Patient statements and courteous patient support
  • Monthly reporting on collections, A/R days, denial reasons and charge lag
  • A signed BAA and HIPAA-compliant handling of all patient data

These are the same services described on our revenue cycle management page, adapted to your specialty.

Multi-specialty groups with women's health

If your group includes OB/GYN providers alongside other specialties, you get the best of both: specialist-level OB/GYN billing — global maternity, GYN surgery and the 2027 maternity code transition — plus coordinated billing for every other department in the same system, with one team accountable for the whole revenue cycle.

How onboarding works for a non-OB/GYN practice

Bringing on a practice outside women's health follows the same steps we use for our OB/GYN clients, with extra attention to specialty-specific rules up front:

  1. Free audit. We review a sample of claims, remittances, denials and A/R aging to understand where your revenue cycle stands today.
  2. Specialty rules review. We document the coding rules, payer policies, coverage determinations and frequency limits that matter most for your specialty and payer mix.
  3. System access and setup. We work inside your existing practice management system and clearinghouse. Our team gets individual user accounts so every action is traceable.
  4. Transition plan. New claims start going out through our process on an agreed date, while existing A/R continues to be worked so nothing falls through the cracks.
  5. First 90 days. We watch rejections and denials closely, fix configuration issues quickly and meet with you regularly.
  6. Ongoing reporting. Monthly KPIs and a review call, the same as for every client.

Questions to ask any billing company — including us

Whatever your specialty, these questions help you judge whether a billing partner is a good fit:

  • How much experience do you have with my specialty specifically? Ask for the codes, payers and denial patterns they know best.
  • Who will actually work my account? A named team you can reach is better than an anonymous queue.
  • What will I see each month? Ask for a sample report. Look for denial reasons, A/R aging and collection rate — not just "claims submitted."
  • How do you handle denials? Every denial should be worked and categorized, not just resubmitted.
  • What happens if we part ways? You should keep your data, your system access and a clean hand-off of open A/R.
  • Will you sign a BAA? This is a legal requirement for any billing company that handles patient information.

We'd rather you ask these questions and choose the right partner than sign with us and be disappointed. If your specialty isn't a strong fit for our team, we'll say so.

Why practices outside OB/GYN work with us

The honest answer is the process. Practices that come to us usually aren't looking for a specific software feature — they want a team that verifies coverage before visits, codes accurately, works every denial, follows up on every unpaid claim and tells them plainly what's happening. Those habits were built in OB/GYN, one of the most demanding specialties to bill, and they carry over well to cardiology, primary care and other outpatient specialties.
